In 2025, the Friends of the Helen Schuler Nature Centre Society expanded community engagement, conservation initiatives, and fundraising efforts through a wide range of programs, partnerships, and events reaching thousands of participants. Significant achievements included enhanced conservation programming, strong volunteer involvement, successful collaborations, and continued support for youth arts, environmental education, and nature‑based community experiences.

Shaw Birdies for Kids tees up major support for kids programs

The results are in! We are happy to report that this year's Shaw Birdies for Kids presented by AltaLink was a success!! Thank you to everyone that donated and supported the fundraiser. In total our donors contributed $17,510. This amount was then matched 50% by the Calgary Shaw Charity Classic Foundation, adding $8,755, for a total of $26,265!!

We are proud to partner with Environment Lethbridge again to offer the ‘Moving Beyond Climate Anxiety Workshop’ to help you discover your inner strengths as a climate leader. Using an appreciative inquiry model, this workshop uses personal storytelling to help you explore your connection to the natural world and give you confidence to make future contributions as a climate leader.

Rotary Club of Lethbridge East confirms support for Inspired by Nature

We are proud to work with Rotary Club of Lethbridge East and Helen Schuler Nature Centre to present the work of the next generation of artists. This annual showcase of creative expressions from youth aged 18 and under will be on display in the Community Art Gallery at the Nature Centre again in fall 2023. Over the past six years we have been fortunate to showcase 227 up-and-coming youth artists!

Nature Play Space Kiosks Project receives funding support

We are proud to announce two amazing contributions towards nature play in Lethbridge! Recently we received a $5,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Lethbridge and Southwestern Alberta. We also received a $500 grant from The Georgina Foundation. Both grants will support our Nature Play Space Kiosk project!
