In August 2020 our Society purchased and began training a gopher snake for the Helen Schuler Nature Centre. The new snake will take over for Sophie, the former snake-in-chief at the Centre, and will provide interactive experiences that build connection and understanding with an oft misunderstood species.

The introduction of Davey, the new snake-in-chief at the Helen Schuler Nature Centre, coincided with the ‘Snakes Alive’ exhibit that was on display from December 2021 - Summer 2022.

Davey is a very close relative to the local bullsnake found in Lethbridge. Plan a visit to meet Davey and learn more about the snakes of Lethbridge!
