Travel Adventures

Planning for Fall 2024 Series

Travel Adventures is an ongoing series presented by the Friends of the Helen Schuler Nature Centre Society where local world travelers share their adventures with photographs that will help you discover the plants, animals, and people of places you’ve always dreamed of exploring!

Generally, we host four Travel Adventures every year in an effort to inspire more exploration and discovery of natural spaces around the world. We have showcased numerous travelers and destinations - including: Australia, Mexico, Namibia, Tanzania, Japan, Canary Islands, New Zealand, and more!

Admission is offered by donation with proceeds supporting the work of the Helen Schuler Nature Centre. Reserved seating is available for those wanting to make a donation of $10.

We are now seeking adventurers for our 2024 series! Do you have a remarkable adventure to share?

What are we looking for?

  • 60 minute presentation, featuring photos and/or videos, followed by question and answer with audience.

  • Topic should take attendees on a journey – whether locally or afar – to get an idea of what they might experience. Ideally attendees will be left wanting to visit the destination for themselves!

  • Focus should be on nature and the environment. You can include cultural highlights as well as logistical information (for example: what to pack, when to go, etc) but this should be secondary to the natural environment focus.
