Rattlesnake Safety in Lethbridge

Rattlesnakes spend much of their time on dry coulee slopes but will wander into cottonwood forests and wetlands in search of food. These snakes also enjoy sunning themselves on paved paths, so it is not uncommon to see them on pathways in some Lethbridge neighbourhoods. We have produced a Snake Safety video with the help of local snake enthusiast Ken Moore that provides expert tips and tricks to help avoid an unwanted encounter with rattlesnakes.

Updated Birding Checklist Available Thanks to Partnership with Lethbridge Naturalists' Society

Led by the Lethbridge Naturalists’ Society and in collaboration with the Helen Schuler Nature Centre, we are proud to partner in the second-edition of the Checklist of the Birds of the Lethbridge Area. We printed 1,000 copies of the Bird Checklists and are now distributing them in the community. Additional copies are available at the Nature Centre as part of their brochure collection.
