Youth Artists recognized at Gallery Closing Event

On Sunday October 30 we hosted the Gallery Closing event for this year’s Inspired by Nature: Youth Art Exhibition. Participating artists were invited to the Nature Centre to be recognized for their artwork that was on display at the Nature Centre from September 20 - October 30, 2022. The event provided an opportunity to meet and thank the artists in person.

Inspired by Nature exhibit now on display

In partnership with the Rotary Club of Lethbridge East, we are proud to present this year’s Inspired by Nature: Youth Art Exhibition. This annual showcase of the next generation of artists is an opportunity for youth aged 18 and under to display their artwork in the Community Art Gallery at the Nature Centre. The exhibition will be on display from September 20 to October 30, 2022.

Lethbridge College collaboration gives fresh perspective on impact of Coulee Cleanup

In December the City of Lethbridge and the Helen Schuler Nature Centre provided Tali Neta, an instructor from Lethbridge College, with data collected between 2015 and 2019 from the annual Coulee Cleanup event. Neta then had students in her Geomorphology class use the data to create StoryMaps that tell a narrative about the litter and the effect it has on the local ecosystem as their end-of-term project.

Now hiring: Conservation Project Outreach Assistants

Since 2012 the Friends of Helen Schuler Nature Centre Society have encouraged participation in the conservation projects like the annual Coulee Clean-Up program! As a result hundreds of bags of garbage have been removed  from natural areas throughout Lethbridge for the betterment of people, animals, and the Oldman Watershed.

This year we are looking to provide direct assistance with the organization and delivery of the Coulee Clean-Up and Shoreline Clean-Up programs provided by the Helen Schuler Nature Centre.
