Did you know? Over the past year the Friends of HSNC Society has been actively fundraising for a new and improved Outdoor Learning Classroom & Amphitheatre at the Nature Centre! We are now ready to announce the project to the community with significant funding support from some amazing local sponsors.
The Helen Schuler Nature Centre is proud to host Nature Play Day on Saturday June 8th from 12:00pm to 4:00pm at Henderson Lake Park. This active outdoor event will feature outdoor games, loose parts playground, live music, hammocks, kayaking, crafts, pond dipping, food trucks, and more!
Travel Adventures: Cape to Cape, 52 days at Sea Aboard Europa with John Nightingale (2nd Presentation)
Find out what life is like on board Europa, a 56m tall - sailing ship, in the vast and unpredictable Southern Ocean toward Antarctica and beyond! John Nightingale spent 52 days at sea, departing from Ushuaia, Argentina sailing through the Beagle Channel, negotiating the infamous Drake Passage en route to the Antarctic Peninsula. Finally crossing the southern Atlantic Ocean, via South Georgia and Tristan Da Cunah to Cape Town, South Africa.
Join us for a hilarious naughty talk about the birds and the bees! Guest speaker Ryan HeavyHead will provide an entertaining look at “love” in nature.
The Wild Side of Love is the Nature Centre's annual fundraising event benefiting nature interpretation within the City of Lethbridge. Funds raised at this year's event will go towards the next iteration of the Master Builder's Brain Zone - an interactive STEM installation.
Join us for the DVD release of the Wildlife of the Oldman River Valley documentary by Rick Andrews! We will be screening the film, hosting a question and answer discussion, and officially releasing the DVD of this fantastic film so you can enjoy it from home with friends and family. The release event will help increase support of the Society and will raise awareness on an important project we are currently fundraising for: the Outdoor Learning Classroom at the Helen Schuler Nature Centre!
