Spectacular Birds of Australia & New Zealand with Lyndon Penner
Monday January 20 at 7pm
At Helen Schuler Nature Centre
Winter is so l-o-o-o-o-o-ng on the Canadian prairies and many of us find ourselves longing for warmer climates and tropical destinations. Not all of us have the time or money to travel far from home, so this winter we are bringing a taste of the tropics to you! Australia and New Zealand are two destinations that have long fascinated naturalists, botanists, and bird watchers. With their wildlife and flora evolving largely in isolation, these two nations are home to some of the world's most incredible species and some of the world's most beautiful birds. Having lived and traveled in these places, Lyndon will be bringing you a colourful, lively presentation about some of these country's most spectacular and wonderful birds. You'll meet parakeets that work as pollinators, the improbable fairy wrens, and flightless emus and kiwi birds as well as many others. This will be an informative and fun evening that will help you forget all about winter!
Everyone is welcome to attend! Admission is by donation. All funds raised will support the Helen Schuler Nature Centre and nature interpretation in Lethbridge.
Please note: we anticipate this to be a busy event and as such are offering reserved seating for a $10 donation to our mission. Seats can be reserved online at:
