Will you be an Eco Ambassador at Waterton Lakes National Park?

Volunteering is a great way to meet other people with similar interests while making valuable contributions to the Park!

Did you know that Waterton Lakes National Park has more types of waters and a wider variety of species living in them than any other Canadian Rocky Mountain park? Volunteer as an Eco Ambassador to help protect these living waters.

Last year’s pilot of this new project was a great success for the volunteers and the challenge to protect ecosystems from aquatic invasive species such as zebra and quagga mussels. If you or someone you know are enthusiastic about the park’s lakes, rivers and wetlands, and like talking outside with visitors, then sign up for the training and become an Eco Ambassador. You would be assisting Parks Canada’s Aquatic Guardians with specific tasks at the park’s most popular recreational waterbodies. Volunteer shifts are three hours on summer weekends. Accommodations, meals, and transportation are not provided by Parks Canada.
