City Nature Challenge 2021 a success!

This was the first year that Lethbridge participated in the City Nature Challenge (CNC). The CNC is a global citizen science bio-blitz held annually. In 2021 more than 419 cities around the world took part; more than 52,000 people participated; over 1,217,000 observations were made; 45,300+ species were documented, including 1,300+ species at risk.

We are proud to share the results for Lethbridge:

  • 589 observations were made

  • 212 species were observed

  • 30 observers took part

  • 138 identifiers assisted

  • 84% of observations were research grade

  • Most Observations & Most Species: Charlie Myles

  • Most Observed Species: Buffalo Bean
